How do causes receive funds?
There are 4 ways that Causes receive funds from merchants.
PayPal - this is the most common and preferred way Causes on Virtue receive funds. Once the store connects their account, Causes receiving funds via this donation method will receive funds into their PayPal Giving Fund account automatically, in line with PayPal Giving Fund donation distribution policies. This is because the store is fundraising for PayPal Giving Fund in support of the chosen charity/ies.

Depending on the Causes you are giving to there are 3 types of payment methods we use.
Direct payment via Stripe - this means the charity has a direct partnership with Virtue. We process your payment on the 20th of the month and will charge your car using Stripe.
PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF) - most of the charities in Virtue are partnered via Paypal Giving Fund. For these charities the donation is processed on the 20th of the month viaFew readersCan Virtue fee be taken out from donations?
To ensure transparency in transactions, we do not allow the subscription fee to be deducted from donations. This way, your customers can be confident that the entire donation amount goes to its intended destination.Few readersHow are refunded sales processed?
Refunded products - store donations
When a product that had a donation associated with it is refunded, the donated amount from that product will be deducted from the Cause's payout total. You will see this change on the Dashboard and on the Payout screen.
If a donation was made on a product purchased before the payout date, but then this product was refunded after the payout was already made, the donation will be deducted from the following payout considering the Cause stays the sameFew readersFailed Payments - Donations

Firstly, its important to identify the type of payment method your chosen causes uses before you can update your payment details to make the payment. Customer donations are tracked throughout the month and are paid out to their respective organisations on the 20th of each month. Some causes will receive their money instantly at payout - while others may have a delay before the funds hit their account. This is dependent on the preferred payment method for the cause.
