When stores set up Customer Donations - a Donation product gets created automatically in your catalogue. This product needs to be live in order for the Customer Donations feature to work. You can hide the donation product from your store and search engines.

1. # Hide the donation product from your Store's "Default collection"

On Shopify your Default collection is usually access with the url /collections/all. Follow these steps to create a "Default collection" to override the existing /collections/all url in your store and add a rule to exclude the Donation product.

From your Shopify admin navigate to Products > Collections and select the utton [Create collection].

2. Set the title to "All Products".
3. Under Collection type choose "Automated".

Next add a condition with the parameters - Product title - is not equal to - "Donation"

5. Click Save in the top right.
6. Head to your Menu settings and update the collection that Menu item 'Catalogue' links to your new collection 'All Products'

Now when customers navigate to /collections/all in your store the Donation product will no longer be visible.

You can exclude the donation product from all collections by clicking into the collection and applying the title 'Donation' exclusion rule.

2. Hide the donation product from search and search engines

It is unlikely that your customers will search for the Donation product. However, if you would like to hide it from search and search engines follow these steps.

In your Shopify Settings create a custom field

From your Shopify admin go to Go to Settings > Metafields and metaobjects > Products

Next, create a new definition with the following details:

• Name: SEO Hidden
• Namespace and key:

seo.hidden

• Content type: Integer
• Save
• Pin your new Definiton so you can easily find it later

3. Next go to Products, search for the Donation product and open it.
4. Navigate to the bottom of the Donation product page to where you see the field you created for hiding products.

Set the value of this field to 1.

6. Click [Save] in the top right of the screen.
